Role Description The Music Instructor for Vocal, Acoustic Guitar, and Electronic Keyboard will plan and deliver structured lessons to learners at various skill levels, aligned with SIFM’s curriculum and standards. This contract, on-site role is based in Chennai and includes responsibilities such as preparing lesson plans, teaching technique and repertoire, guiding practice routines, and introducing relevant music theory concepts during sessions. The instructor will conduct individual and group classes, demonstrate performance skills, provide constructive feedback, and support learners in developing stage confidence and studio readiness. Additional responsibilities include assessing learner progress, maintaining accurate records, collaborating with other faculty on performance events or assessments, and ensuring a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. This is an on-site teaching position at Adyar, Chennai. Qualifications Strong foundation in Music Theory and general Music knowledge relevant to vocal, acoustic guitar, and electronic keyboard instruction.Demonstrated Music Performance skills in at least one of the primary areas (vocal, acoustic guitar, electronic keyboard), with versatility across styles of Indian film music.Experience in Music Education, including planning lessons, assessing learner progress, and adapting teaching methods for different skill levels.Relevant academic qualification in music or a closely related field, or equivalent professional training and industry experience.Ability to communicate musical concepts clearly, foster learner engagement, and work collaboratively with a diverse faculty and learner body.Experience with studio or live performance environments, and familiarity with contemporary Indian film music practices, is highly beneficial.Commitment to maintaining an inclusive, respectful, and non-discriminatory classroom environment.
